Site Conditions and Client Brief

Budgets, Aesthetics and Requirements

Get in Touch – The best way for us to get started is to schedule a free client interview so that we can begin to get to know each other, discuss your goals, timeline, budget, preferences, and answer any questions that you may have.  Your Landscape, like your home, should be a reflection of you: your personal style, your lifestyle, and your resources. The more information we have about you and what your goals are, the better we can help you achieve those goals! Take Client Questionnaire to get started.

Client Interview (Online Meeting) Schedule an initial interview where we will do a site evaluation. This complimentary meeting is to help us understand what you want from our services and make sure we’re the right fit for you. We will look at pictures of your property, discuss what your likes and dislikes are about your space now and what you would like to accomplish. We encourage the clients to have photos of desired elements.

Proposal Review – A design proposal will be given to you after the on-site consultation detailing the scope of the design work, elements to be included in the design, and the cost of the design. Upon agreement to the terms, a signed proposal, and a 50% deposit, we will schedule to begin work on your project.

Landscape Design Process

Visual layouts outlining ideas

Site Analysis and Dimensions – The first step in the design stage is for us to conduct a site survey to take into account the existing garden and conditions, map out boundaries and take other measurements required for the preparation of a landscape plan. In some cases there will be a drone flight, to get accurate footage. It is not required for the client to be at this meeting but can be beneficial if attended.

Conceptual Designs – Next we draw visual layouts outlining our ideas combined with your requests and preferences in various layouts.

Clarify Designs – We meet to go over these concepts and to discuss proposed plant material and hardscape options to give you a feel for the space and the opportunity to refine the layout and select materials that appeal to you. These meetings are preferably over Zoom online.

Master Landscape Plan

Scope examples include…

Master Plan – The final step in the design process is to assemble everything that appealed to you in one or more of the concept plans, elements, and materials, and prepare the final Master Plan. Depending on the scope of the project the Master Plan can include one to all of the following: Final Design Drawing, Planting Palette, Planting Plan, Bloom Calendar and 3D Renderings.

Planting Palette -Botanical and common names of the plants including pictures. Planting Palette’s will cover; Trees, shrubs, perennials and ground covers.

Planting Plan –  Placement of plants with symbols and quantities in the Planting Plan key.

Bloom Calendar – A map showing perennial bloom colors and blooming periods throughout the season.

3D Rendering – Virtual renderings of approved plans. 3D renderings help you get a physical sense of materials and layout.
